German Premiere & EYOTY Finalist CNB 62
The French shipyard CNB, now part of Solaris Yachts, has been building superyachts since 1989, quickly becoming synonymous with elegance. In 2008, the yard entered the semi-custom yacht segment with the Bordeaux 60 – an immediate success, as the knowledge and experience gained in the superyacht league could be perfectly applied. It is no coincidence that the now-legendary Bordeaux 60 was sold 46 times between 2008 and 2016. Its legitimate successor is now the CNB 62. Designer Philippe Briand has conceived it as a refined, seaworthy, and high-performance cruiser that, despite its considerable size, can be easily sailed by a couple, i.e., without a crew.
Key features include the enormous space on and below deck as well as the safe, sheltered cockpit with wheel stations positioned far forward and a targa bar for mounting the mainsheet. The hardtop is optional, and the tender garage accommodates a 3 m dinghy in a longitudinal position. A true semi-deck salon offers a 360-degree panoramic view. The galley, located in front of the main companionway, spans the full width of the yacht and sits slightly lower than the salon. This cleverly conceals any mess in the kitchen while creating a fantastic sense of space.
The owner’s suite in the forepeak features a huge bed and a bathroom that deserves the name more than a simple wet room, offering the comfort of a residential bathroom. This gives it the character of a suite – something definitely unusual in this class. The two aft cabins also each have their own bathroom; the starboard cabin can optionally be configured as a double or single berth. The interior, which follows a linear design with straight surfaces and a minimalist aesthetic, exudes superyacht appeal, thanks to Cabinet Piaton Yacht Design.
When it comes to sailing, everything is top-notch. Both helm stations are identical, allowing operation of the electric furling systems for the mainsail, genoa, and cutter staysail, as well as the bow and stern thrusters, from either wheel.
